IRWIN Receives Award for Fall Outage Work from Platte River Power Authority

December 11, 2008

IRWIN Industries recently received an "Outstanding Service Award" from the Platte River Power Authority for the work performed at the Rawhide Energy Station in Fort Collins, Colorado earlier this year.

Accoriding to the Outage Coordinator for the project, "IRWIN Project Manager Jay Matthews and his crew were very responsive to our needs and changes in work scope throughout the outage. Most importantly, they accomplished their work in a very safe manner as noted by our staff at Rawhide. We appreciate the great job!"

IRWIN Manager of Power Plant Services West, Mike Howell, says the award is a direct reflection of Matthews' leadership ability and the talent and dedication of his crew on this project, which involved main steam and reheat line replacements.

"Jay and the other project managers who represent IRWIN across the country are the people who have the most face-to-face communication with our customers and are responsible for the favorable reputation IRWIN enjoys throughout the country," Howell said.

IRWIN Industries' President Randy Renny added that the award is also a testament to what can happen when a company's employees actively live their values. "The fact that the IRWIN crew pulled together to reach their goals, despite the changes in scope," he said, "prove they were communicating and working as a team while staying focused on safety."
